Have you ever wondered how to cross your defender over so hard that you break his ankles? www.shotscience.com This week Chase discusses how to properly execute a crossover dribble, which if executed correctly is nearly indefensible. Just so you know, there are many more ball handling videos coming and, of course, tons more videos on all things basketball!! We look forward to all of your comments! Thanks so much for all the support! We’d love to get a video response from one of you! See you …

dragon: Yes we could, but it is not as explosive because of the scissor dribble.

Hey shNUfan: Let us know how it goes. We are very interested. That wide step needs to be a tight one to cut the defender off. Good luck.

kep: Well we will have several more moves to offer very soon, however, we can’t predict whether they can or can’t stop you. That’s all going to be determined by you. Stay tuned for more of SS videos.

mr2: We will be posting a number of new moves very soon. Work on this crossover and you will really like the results. We have a video on the shot fake that will help against those shot blockers. Check it out.

so the best way to practice this is to just keep doing it over and over again everyday as fast as i can?

  13. ShotScience
    January 14th, 2010 at 15:30 | #13

Ekam: Do it over and over, but start at a slower speed until you begin to execute the move correctly, then move toward “GAME SPEED” execution. Then its time to use the move on a defender to work out the little things against a real person. It will come for you and expect that you may not be very successful in a “live” situation for a while, but then it will come to you. Remember, “First we fail and then we begin to succeed as we develop any skill in a live situation.
    Let us know.

i could do this crossover pretty well but there is always room for improvement.
I watched one of allen iverson’s video and when he does the cross over, his feet leave the ground alittle. What is the diffrence by doing that.

Ekam: Iverson is a crazy athletic guy. I don’t see where leaving the ground gives you any advantage. Just do what you can do.

paki: We really don’t have a ball that we prefer or endorse at this time. They are all good balls and all are round!

I would like to ask; Please make a video of the crossvoer of allen iverson tutorial. I realy need a tutorial..I can do a crossover lke yours but I need to learn more breaking ankles.

143: The answer to this question is to go back over this video several times and then practice the cross-over as in the video. Chase made a living on this move in college. Ray Allen is Ray Allen and we are who we are.

is it ok to take a hop step/skip like motion before you do the crossover? in some games the defence reads it right away from the get-go, while in other games it totally works until they catch on

  23. ShotScience
    January 24th, 2010 at 16:38 | #23

jj: We do not feel the skip or step motion is a good way to go because that tells the defense that you are going to make the move. Instead we recommend that you use the “Plant and Push” method for getting into the cross. It’s very explosive and you can see this in our cross-over video. Check it out.
